I believe getting dressed should be the easiest part of your day.
Hi — I'm Cindy Blakely, a wardrobe stylist for women 50+ in the Chicagoland area (and everywhere else, virtually).
If you'd told me years ago that I'd be spending my days in other women's closets, I would have laughed. But here we are, and honestly? I can't imagine doing anything else.
Before styling, I spent more than three decades teaching kindergarten. After I retired, I found myself in a new season of life. Like many women, I was navigating changes in my body, my routines, and even how I wanted to show up in the world. The clothes weren’t necessarily wrong. But some no longer felt like me.
Around the same time, friends started asking for help with their closets and shopping trips. What began as casual advice quickly turned into something more. Again and again, I met women who felt frustrated by closets full of clothes that no longer seemed to work.
One woman stood in front of a packed closet and said, “I don’t even know who I’m dressing anymore.” That stopped me in my tracks. Because it wasn’t really about the clothes. It was about trying to dress a life, a body, and a version of herself that had changed.
What I Believe
• You don’t need a new body to dress well.
• Style should support your life, not complicate it.
• Confidence doesn’t come from buying more clothes. It comes from knowing what works for you.
• Your wardrobe should reflect the woman you are today, not the woman you were twenty years ago.
• Great style starts with clarity, not consumption.
When I’m not elbow-deep in someone’s closet, you’ll usually find me spending time with my two grandsons, hunting for treasures in thrift stores, taking long walks, writing articles for Substack or putting together playlists that my clients tell me are suspiciously good. I absolutely LOVE to travel. I'm trying to wrap my mind around doing more solo traveling.
I also believe a great conversation, a good cup of coffee, and the right outfit can solve more problems than most people realize.
If any of this sounds like the kind of help you’ve been looking for, let’s talk. The first call is free, it’s easy, and there’s no pressure. Just a conversation about where you’re stuck and whether I can help.
